Combined heating boilers are designed for firing with firewood, wood chip briquettes and coal, or in automatic mode using 6–8 mm wood chip pellets. Depending on the boiler model, when firing in manual mode the burner will need to be dismantled, or it may be possible to leave it connected to the boiler. Heating boilers can be made from steel or cast iron (see explanation under solid fuel heating boilers). If you have additionally purchased replacement boiler doors on which a pellet burner is installed, when firing in manual mode it will be possible to dismantle the burner together with the door and install the replacement boiler door.
By installing a pellet burner, you will be able to give up constant firing and boiler monitoring – simply set the heating water or room temperature, and the pellet burner will take care of the rest.
