Air-to-Air Heat Pumps

Air-to-air heat pump is the simplest type of heat pump. This unit is very similar to an air conditioner, but it is also designed for heating rooms during the cold winter months. Manufacturers recommend using a standard air conditioner in heating mode when the outdoor air temperature is down to minus 5 degrees, while an air-to-air heat pump can provide efficient operation down to as low as minus 25 degrees.

Using air-to-air heat pumps, rooms can be heated quickly while providing fully automated heating. An air-to-air heat pump provides warmth on cool autumn or summer days, during cold winter weather, and can also cool the air in summer heat. These units are most often installed in apartments, holiday homes, small and medium-sized houses and properties where there is no central heating or where installing it would be uneconomical. Heat pumps operate quietly and are equipped with various filters that help clean indoor air from bacteria and dust.

Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

An air-to-water heat pump is a unit that transfers energy from the surrounding air to heating and prepares hot domestic water. An air-to-water heat pump works similarly to any refrigerator, using a gas pressure change cycle. The outdoor unit fan drives outdoor air through the outdoor unit radiator – the heat exchanger. This radiator contains very low-temperature refrigerant which, when "warmed" by the outdoor air, changes its state of aggregation to gaseous.

The compressor then increases the pressure of the gas and accordingly a high temperature is achieved. The heated gas is transferred to the indoor unit, where it transfers the carried heat to the water through the heat exchanger. The refrigerant then flows back to the outdoor unit and the cycle is repeated.

An air-to-water heat pump will provide fully automatic heating in your apartment, home, office or shop. The unit can be connected to a water heating system – radiators, underfloor heating, warm air blowers. This unit can be connected as the sole heating unit or as a supplementary heating unit.

COMMODUS veic jebkuras sarežģītības siltumsūkņa uzstādīšanu. Veicam montāžu gan pie mums iegādātām iekārtām, gan citur pirktām. Pie mums iegādātām iekārtām piedāvājam ļoti pievilcīgu cenu montāžai. 5 gadu garantija montāžas darbiem. Droši varam apgalvot, ka veicam kvalitatīvāko montāžu Latvijā.

Heat transfer fluids

Heat transfer fluids are used in heating and cooling systems. The most commonly used heat transfer fluids are water and antifreeze – a special ethylene glycol or propylene glycol liquid with additives that reduce metal corrosion, polymerisation, oxidation, scale formation and foaming.

Heat pump installation

COMMODUS installs heat pumps of any complexity. We install equipment purchased from us as well as equipment bought elsewhere. For equipment purchased from us, we offer a very attractive installation price. A 5-year warranty is provided for installation works. We can confidently say that we provide the highest-quality installation in Latvia.

Standard air-to-air heat pump installation includes:

  • Free specialist visit for site inspection (within Riga, Jurmala, Jelgava, Dobele, Saldus and Tukums)
  • Installation of the indoor and outdoor heat pump units without using a lift.
  • Preparation of the heat pump connecting route (pipes are not built into the wall; they run on the surface with or without a covering trunking), drilling one hole in a wall up to 0.8 m thick
  • Installation of refrigerant, control cable and condensate lines over a length of 5 metres. Pipes and cables are not included in the price.
  • Fastening covering trunking over a length of 4 metres. The trunking is not included in the price.
  • Connecting the heat pump to the distribution board using a new or existing circuit breaker, or to a socket. The cable and circuit breaker are not included in the price.
  • Heat pump start-up and operation check.
  • User training.

Additional costs:
