RTB pellet boilers are highly automated. The standard equipment includes everything required to leave the boiler unattended for an extended period. There is no need to check every evening whether the boiler is operating or whether a fault has occurred.
To view the boiler's operation or change its parameters, you can use the smartphone app or connect to the boiler through a web browser. The information in the app is available in Latvian.
When opening the app on your phone for the first time, you will be asked for the controller access details. These can be found on the pellet boiler control panel under item 18, 'SETUP'. Make a note of the 'Serial number' and 'Password'. Once entered, the access details will be saved automatically for subsequent use of the app.

The mobile app displays the same information as the boiler control panel. You can view the boiler's operating status, domestic hot-water temperature, boiler temperature, heating-zone temperatures, boiler output, pellet consumption and a wide range of other information.
The web version is very similar.

All parameters can also be changed, including the target temperatures, operating schedules, heating curve and the outdoor temperature at which heating is switched off. Time schedules are available for both heating and the domestic hot-water cylinder. For heating, you can select normal operation, off or reduced-temperature mode and specify on the control panel how many degrees the heating-circuit temperature should be reduced. For domestic hot water, you can set periods during which the boiler heats on demand and periods during which it remains off even if the cylinder temperature has fallen.

An RTB boiler includes a lambda sensor as standard. It measures the oxygen content in the flue gases and adjusts the air supply and fuel quantity to achieve efficient combustion. Only the pellet feed rate of the auger needs to be calibrated; the boiler then controls the remainder of the combustion process very precisely. Calibration is recommended when changing pellet suppliers or purchasing a different batch from the same supplier.

A 30-day operating history assists with boiler servicing and rapid fault diagnosis. It shows parameter changes and boiler operation, allowing the operating settings to be adjusted or a fault to be identified.

You can also view hourly pellet consumption for the previous 24 hours, consumption over 24 days, 12 months and 12 years.

The boiler controls can manage two heating circuits, such as underfloor heating and radiators, as well as heating the domestic hot water in a cylinder. For each heating circuit, you can freely select the outdoor temperature, the corresponding flow temperature and the boiler output. If the control panel is connected to the internet, the boiler can obtain the outdoor temperature from the nearest weather station; alternatively, you can use an RTB outdoor-temperature sensor.
